Meet the team: Isnaldi R. Souza Filho (Max-Planck-Institut for Sustainable Materials)
The H2PlasmaRed project introduces Isnaldi R. Souza Filho (Max-Planck-Institut for Sustainable Materials, MPI Sus Mat), part of our team with the role of Leader of WP “Process analysis, characterization, and baseline definitions”.
This work package will ensure the understanding of the underlying chemical mechanisms behind the redox chemical reactions that transform Fe-bearing oxides into pure liquid Fe using hydrogen-containing thermal plasma; our research will also provide science-based findings to support the scalability of the process in pilot scales.
Isnaldi R. Souza Filho is a CNRS Junior Professor and chair of Sustainable Metallurgy as well as Group leader at MPI Sus Mat for Sustainable Synthesis of Materials. His interests are related (but not limited to) to hydrogen metallurgy, recycling, circular economy, sustainable metallurgy, C-free processes.
