H2PlasmaRed at the 6th European Academic Symposium on EAF Steelmaking – EASES 2025 in Ljubljana, Slovenia
We are excited to have participated in the 6th European Academic Symposium on EAF Steelmaking – EASES 2025 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was a great opportunity to engage with experts across academia and industry, sharing insights on the future of steelmaking.
Our colleague, Areej Javed, had the opportunity of presenting her work on: “Kinetic Modeling of Hematite Reduction by Hydrogen Plasma Smelting Reduction in Laboratory Scale” under H2PlasmaRed Horizon Europe project.
This research explores the potential of hydrogen plasma as a sustainable reduction agent in steelmaking, contributing to the global shift toward low-carbon metallurgical processes.
I’m grateful to my supervisors and colleagues at Process Metallurgy research unit at University of Oulu for their constant guidance. Sincere thanks to University of Oulu for the travel grant support. Looking forward to more knowledge-sharing and progress in the decarbonization of steelmaking!
