First trials in 2025 for H2PlasmaRed at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials
Last week marked the first trials in 2025 for H2PlasmaRed at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials! The week was filled with H2-plasma smelting reduction experiments with iron ores and steelmaking sidestreams, and we’re excited to start the sample and plasma characterization work.
This was also a great opportunity for the project coordinator Henri Pauna to meet the two doctoral researchers Anumoy Ganguly and Bhaskarjyoti Das at Max Planck and to discuss the project with WP1 and WP2 leaders Isnaldi R. Souza Filho and Hauke Springer. A huge thank you to the reactor operator Dennis Klapproth and both Ubaid Manzoor and Tuğçe Beyazay for inspiring collaboration! The next stop: General Assembly meeting in February 2025 at the Montanuniversität Leoben.
